The ad claims "PERFECT LEGS IN AN INSTANT! Our original airbrush legs is now available as an easy-blend liquid body makeup. The lightweight formula hides imperfections & won't rub off on clothes."
I was under the impression when I took the survey from Influenster to see if I qualified for testing of their product that the product was a self tanning lotion and was given the option to try the product in LIGHT, MEDIUM, and DARK. I choose medium. upon getting the product I now see the product is a 'Leg Make-up' and I probably should of choose the light since i'm rather pale.
The instructions on the back read: Squeeze a quarter size of product into hand; smooth on evenly to legs & feet; rub in completely. Apply sparingly to knees & ankles. Allow to set before dressing. Removes easily with soap, water, & a wash cloth.
I tried the product after showering and shaving to give my legs a clean pallet to work with. I moisturized prior to applying to avoid ashiness. When I squeezed the product into my hand I was rather shocked at how thick it was. At the time still thinking it was a self tanning lotion. I rubbed it into my legs and found it looked kind of streaky and orange.
After reading the instructions again and again and never seeing mentioned this being a self tanning, I then realized this is exactly what it says. A LEG MAKE-UP! This product is literally foundation for your legs!!! NOT A SELF TANNER! I have never seen such a product before so I was kind of confused at 1st.
I ended up having to mix lotion and the "product" all over my legs together to get a nice even smooth coverage that was not streaky and so orange.
My over all thought on the product is No, I will not purchase this product. I am not self conscious enough to put foundation over my legs. If you are someone who feels you are self conscious about your legs this might be the thing for you. It is not permanent and it only last for a day. Just like typical make up would. I did find it to rub off on my shorts even after setting a bit. I also thought it looked fake and kind of weird and I was kind of self conscious about people noticing I had a "fake tan" on. Maybe because I had on the wrong shade? I dunno, but I felt it looked fake and orangey. Go figure I'm only self conscious of my legs while wearing this product.
The picture above is the Sally Hansen Airbrushed legs applied and photographed in sunlight. It looks normal in the pic, but what I saw in person looked different. But who knows, they say yourself is your worst critic
I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
